The Boy Scout motto of 'Be Prepared' hit home a few weeks ago whilst at a local motorcycle rally. I was asked by a reporter if he could interview me about my book. I guess I could have said no, but this was a fantastic opportunity to get my message out to a wider audience. Unfortunately, I had less than 5 mins to think about what I wanted to say and there were no second attempts. On reading the article, the reporter, Bud Wilkinson captured exactly what I said because he recorded it - so I can't argue with his quotes. It would have been nice to have some editorial rights, but I was never going to pass up on such a great opportunity. The lesson of the day: 'even if you don't feel fully prepared when an opportunity presents itself, go for it and always give it your best shot'
